Kyma Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced materials solutions that promote safety and energy efficiency, announced today the the extension of their GaN template crystal growth tools and materials to 6" diameter.
Kyma's GaN templates are comprised of crystalline layers of GaN deposited using Kyma's patented and proprietary hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE) process and crystal growth tools. Kyma has used this approach to supply 2", 3", and 4" diameter GaN template materials and HVPE tools for many years.
Kyma's 6" GaN HVPE crystal growth tool design utilizes a single wafer approach and include the option of adding the ability to deposit AlN and AlGaN materials. All of Kyma's HVPE tools benefit from many years of engineering advances that support high tool uptime, excellent process stability, and low maintenance costs.
The demand for 6" diameter GaN templates and growth tools is growing as a result of the continuous drive to reduce LED manufacturing costs and the explosion in GaN power electronics development worldwide.
Kyma CEO Keith Evans stated, "We are pleased to field strong customer demand for these 6" diameter materials and tools, and we are already discussing the possibility of moving to 8" diameter in the not too distant future."
Kyma’s mission is to provide advanced materials solutions that promote safety and energy efficiency. Kyma’s products include a diverse portfolio of crystalline nitride semiconductor materials, crystal growth and fabrication equipment, and power switching electronics. Additionally, the company is developing a novel electromagnetic field sensor technology.
