Kyma Technologies' work with Argonne National Labs was recently selected as a winner of a 2026 R&D100 award in the Analytical/Test category. The innovation involved a unique platform called "RADXtract", which helps engineers find out why, how, and when advanced power devices fail in harsh environments before those failures occur in the field. It is designed for wide-bandgap devices, which can operate at high temperatures, voltages, and radiation levels and are important for satellites and other national security systems. Instead of taking devices apart after they fail or relying only on computer models, RADXtract monitors them while they operate. It combines experiments, computer simulations and artificial intelligence (AI) to identify early warning signs, determine root causes and predict lifetimes.
The R&D 100 Awards program is the only S&T (science and technology) awards competition that recognizes new commercial products, technologies, and materials for their technological significance that are available for sale or license. Often referred to as the "Oscars of Innovation", the R&D 100 Awards identifies and celebrates the top 100 revolutionary technologies of the past year. The 2026 R&D 100 gala banquet will be held at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort in Arizona on November on19, 2026.
